Study of Options for a Centralized Composting Pilot Project in the City of Yellowknife

In spring 2007, two Ecology North volunteers spearheaded a project to seek funding to carry out a study of options for centralized composting in the City of Yellowknife.

Between December 2007 and April 2008, Ecology North employed two people to  research centralized composting methods, determine the feasibility of centralized composting for Yellowknife, and to work in cooperation with staff at the City of Yellowknife to recommend a design for a centralized composting pilot project.  This project was carried out under the guidance of advisors from the GNWT, City of Yellowknife, and Ecology North. Read the report: Study of Options for a Centralized Composting Pilot Project in the City of Yellowknife.

Ecology North continues to support staff at the City of Yellowknife to work towards making a centralized composting pilot project a reality.  Keep your ears perked for the latest centralized composting news!
