Through sustainable living programs, Ecology North strives to provide opportunities for Yellowknife residents to engage in hands-on learning about how to use resources more efficiently. Sustainable living activities include the following:
· Workshops on energy efficiency
· Guided tours to visit local Yellowknife homes and businesses that have undertaken projects to increase energy and resource-use efficiency
· Sustainable living fair at the annual Yellowknife trade show
· Rent-a-plate service so that organizations holding community events do not need to purchase disposable plates and cutlery
· Provision of a reusable plate service and dishwashing at the annual Folk-on- the-Rocks music festival
Are you planning a conference, workshop or meal at your workplace or business? Organizing a large birthday party or family reunion?
Ecology North is pleased to provide a 'Rent-a-Plate' service so you do not need to purchase disposable dishware when planning a large event!
Our 'Rent-a-Plate repertoire' currently includes the following:
- 200 large plates
- 50 small plates
- 100 mugs
- 100 soup bowls
- 100 cutlery sets
- wash basins, dish racks and tea towels
